Aluminium 8011 foils consist of an aluminium-iron-silicon alloy, which provides superior barrier protection, corrosion resistance, and mechanical stability. These foils have tensile strengths from 80 to 150 MPa and yield strengths of between 30 and 110 MPa, as a function of temper (e.g., O, H14, or H18). They are non-toxic, chemically non-reactive with foods and chemicals, and very formable for deep drawing and wrapping. The alloy has excellent moisture, light, gas, and odor resistance and is suited for sensitive packaging applications. It also accommodates embossing, printing, and coating for brand and functional purposes.
